Seat occupancy mat
Simulators for seat occupancy mats
Modern vehicles have a seat occupancy mat installed in the front passenger seat. Pressure points in the mat signal the control unit whether a passenger has taken a seat in the front passenger seat and therefore whether the front passenger airbag must be triggered in the event of a collision.
Your problem:
- Your seat occupancy mat is defective and replacing the entire sensor mat is too expensive?
- The original seats have been replaced with sports seats and now the airbag light is on?
Our solution:
We have developed a special seat occupancy mat simulator for the above-mentioned problems. This simulator is fitted under the front passenger seat in place of the seat occupancy mat and now simulates a permanently occupied front passenger seat for the airbag control unit. In the event of a collision, this ensures that the front passenger airbag is deployed - even if the front passenger seat is not occupied by a person.
The defective seat occupancy mat can remain in the seat. In most cases, it is not necessary to remove the seat.
IMPORTANT SAFETY NOTE:
As the front passenger airbag always deploys in the event of a collision, a seat with a simulator and without a deactivatable front passenger airbag must NOT be fitted with a child seat facing against the direction of travel.
